See the 1928 song, “My Heart Stood Still”, for information regarding Rogers and Hart. This song is from the play Babes In Arms. The Broadway version had a few black actors. The plot involved them trying to avoid being sent to a work farm. In the movie version, Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney put on a show to keep an old playhouse from being demolished. Only two songs from the play appear in the movie: “Where Or When” and “Babes In Arms”.
